2024–2025 Regional Community Forums
Expressions of interest for 2024–2025 Regional Community Forum membership were open from 6 November to 1 December 2023.
We will announce new 2024–2025 Regional Community Forum members in each of the seven regions in early 2024.
Being a Forum member gives you a voice that will be heard whether it’s a singular voice or in a group environment. Seeing a particular pressing matter for our community come to life after a conversation you’ve engaged in months ago, is a tremendous moment because you know that the Ministers and government representatives attending the Forums have taken that information, gone away, thought about it further, created a policy and implemented it. For me, this is why becoming a Regional Community Forum member is so important because your voice is truly heard. Clinton Begg - Mackay/Isaac/Whitsunday Regional Community Forum member

About the region
The Mackay/Isaac/Whitsunday region spans more than 90,000 square kilometres from St Lawrence in the south, to Mackay and the Whitsundays, north to Bowen, and west beyond Clermont.
It is a stunning part of Queensland, complemented by its natural beauty and renowned for its relaxed lifestyle.
Drawcards such as the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands attract tremendous quantities of national and international visitors annually, marking the region as a gem in Queensland’s tourism economy.
All that economic strength is further cemented by the Bowen and Galilee Basins which boast a strong agricultural sector and are home to the largest coal mining deposits in Australia.
