Queensland Women’s Week
From 3-10 March 2024, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women and girls across the state as part of Queensland Women’s Week.
The theme for 2024 is Count Her In.
This theme highlights the critical importance of women’s economic empowerment as central to realising women’s rights and gender equality. It is a call to action to ensure women and girls are counted and acknowledges the fundamental right of every woman and girl to equally participate in all areas of our society including education, the economy and workforce, politics and, importantly, at home.
Events and activities across the state will provide opportunities for women and girls to connect and share their experiences in a supportive and empowering environment.
Read the stories of Queensland women from a range of backgrounds, businesses, sectors and industries who have shared their thoughts on the future for women in Queensland.
During the week we also celebrate International Women’s Day (8 March), when all women are recognised for their achievements.
Everyone has a role to play in helping to create a community where everyone has value, one that promotes and protects the rights, interests, and wellbeing of women and girls.
In doing so, you help to enrich and strengthen our communities to create a more equal Queensland. Together, we can make a difference.
