On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent, ending four years of continuous warfare and bringing an end to the First World War. Today, Remembrance Day is commemorated on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, as we pause for a minute's silence to remember the Australian service men and women who have served and sacrificed in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

You can pay your respects online by placing a virtual poppy on the Anzac Square website. A poppy will be placed on your behalf inside the Anzac Square Memorial Gallery or on the plaque of your choice.
