Services
Medium term accommodation is available for families and young people. A Resource Worker engages with those we house to assist them in working towards a picture of the future. Our Resource Workers can offer: Support, advocacy, assistance with gaining Centrelink benefits, assistance with applications to the Department of Housing, other assistance as necessary, appropriate referral to other agencies and services, an opportunity to meet and work with other tenants, access to learning opportunities, assistance to set goals and plan for the future Rent is charged on the basis of income and tenants pay their own electricity, gas and telephone charges. The houses are furnished with basic furniture but tenants are expected to provide linen, crockery, china, etc. There are no television sets in the accommodation. Unfortunately vacancies do not occur very often. When a vacancy does occur, all applications are considered on a needs basis.
