The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) is committed to actively resolving disputes in a way that is fair, just, accessible, quick and inexpensive. The tribunal provides a fair and transparent process for public and media access to QCAT records and information. Matter types covered by QCAT include: Administration for Adults (The tribunal provides a fair and transparent process for public and media access to QCAT records and information.) Building Disputes, Children and Young People (Child Safety, Blue Card applications and preventing entry to educational facilities). Consumer and Trader disputes (up to $25,000) Debt Disputes (up to and including $25,000) Guardianship for Adults, Minor Civil Disputes, Occupational Regulation, Residential Tenancy Disputes, Review of Administrative Decisions. QCAT services are delivered throughout the state through the Magistrates court with approximately half of the matters being heard outside of Brisbane. The local Magistrates (www.courts.qld.gov.au/contact-us/courthouses ) is the first point of contact for suburban Brisbane and non-Brisbane based QCAT clients. All courthouses( https://www.courts.qld.gov.au/contact-us/courthouses ) outside of the Brisbane CBD can provide assistance. Brisbane: 8.30am ? 4.30pm weekdays Outside of Brisbane: To lodge an application form or discuss a minor civil dispute matter contact your local Magistrates Court.
