If any of the documents are not provided to us with your application, you will receive a letter asking for more evidence of your eligibility. If you are unable to reply within 60 days, the application may be cancelled and any payment refunded.

I’m their sister or brother
You need to provide:

- written authority and proof of ID from the person whose certificate you are applying for or their parent or
- power of attorney document.
I’m their child
You need to provide:
- your proof of ID documents and
- written authority and proof of ID from your parent whose certificate you are applying for or their parent or
- power of attorney document.
I’m their grandparent
You need to provide:

- written authority and proof of ID from your grandchild whose certificate you are applying for or their parent or

I’m their grandchild

You must also state the reason for access (i.e. you must be acting for a person entitled to the information or certificate, and it must be required either for production in court, for lodgement with the Registrar of Titles, or for administration of an estate).
I’m their solicitor
You will need to provide:
- a signed letter on company letterhead clearly stating the reason for access (i.e. you must be acting for a person entitled to the information or certificate, or it must be required either for production in court, for lodgement with the Registrar of Titles, or for administration of an estate). The letter must also contain a certified copy of your law society card or practising certificate for interstate solicitors.
Delivery agents acting for a solicitor will also need to provide:
- proof of employment with the firm or organisation you represent and
- proof of ID documents.
Another relationship
The registrar can make decisions on any unusual cases that may not be detailed in the policy above.
