Victim Assist Queensland
Victim Assist Queensland (VAQ) is a statewide government service dedicated to helping victims recover.
We may be able to:
- help you apply for financial assistance
- explain how the court system works and your part in it
- help you to understand your rights as a victim.

If you need someone to talk to, you could:
- call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours)
- find a counsellor, social worker or psychologist in your area and contact them directly
- call PACT on 1800 449 632 or request PACT support—they provide free support to victims and witnesses going through a court process and information about how to write your victim impact statement
- call VictimConnect on 1300 318 940 (24 hours)—they provide free and confidential counselling to help you recover from the emotional and psychological impacts of experiencing or witnessing a crime.
