New accreditation standards released
The Australian mediator and dispute resolution accreditation standards (AMDRAS) have replaced the National mediator accreditation system. We (Dispute Resolution Branch) are an approved recognised training provider under AMDRAS and have revised our courses to reflect the new standards and requirements.
Use this form to apply for re-accreditation under the Australian mediator and dispute resolution accreditation standards (AMDRAS).
Before you apply, please make sure you have evidence that during your 2-year accreditation period, you have:
- conducted the required hours of mediation, co-mediation or conciliation
- completed at least 25 hours of professional development.
If you mediate outside the Dispute Resolution Branch (DRB) you must provide evidence of your mediation-related insurance, statutory indemnity or employee status.

Privacy and consent statement
Dispute Resolution Branch, Department of Justice (we/us/our), is collecting your personal information, including:
- your name and contact information
- information about your mediation or conciliation experience
- information about your employee status, affiliations and accreditations
- your statutory indemnity or private professional indemnity
- your criminal record
- impairments affecting your professional capacity
- complaints made against you in a mediator role.
We are collecting your personal information to assess your eligibility for re-accreditation as a mediator and to contact you about this.
You are not required to provide this information to us. If the information requested is not provided, we may not be able to assess your application for re-accreditation. We usually disclose this personal information to the AMDRAS Board.
Your payment details will be provided to Smart Services Queensland and the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business to process your payment.
We will not give your personal information to anyone else or use your personal information for any other purpose unless we are authorised or required under an Australian law, or court or tribunal order to do so.
