Where to find your payment reference number

Your payment reference number is shown on a range of Department of Transport and Main Roads products and documents, but may be listed by another name.

Vehicle registration

Registration notice

For standard vehicle registration notices, you can find your payment reference number near the bottom of the 'Fee Breakdown' section—referred to as a Credit Card Payment Reference Number. From 23 February 2018, the same payment reference number will appear for both pay terms on renewal notices. Always use the payment reference number shown on the renewal notice.

Photographic detection device offence notice

You can find your payment reference number for the full payment near the top middle, and the payment reference number for a voluntary instalment plan near the top right of your infringement notice.

Infringement notice

Your payment reference number is listed as the BPAY reference number on your infringement notice.

You can find your BPAY reference number for the full payment or for a voluntary first instalment midway down the left hand side of the infringement.

You can find your payment reference number near the top right hand corner of your Tolling Offence Unit infringement notice.
