Support for Queensland Pacific Metals
The Queensland Government is committing up to $8 million to assist Queensland Pacific Metals (QPM) prepare the Townsville Energy Chemicals Hub (TECH) project for investment readiness.
This grant will be provided with the recently announced matched grant from the federal government.
QPM’s $2 billion TECH Project aims to deliver a modern and sustainable battery materials—nickel and cobalt materials—refinery for Townsville, and has secured prescribed project status from the Queensland Government.
This funding underscores the Queensland Government’s recognition that critical minerals are the future for Townsville and North Queensland and a commitment to grow and diversify the industry.
