Child Safety Officer
The Child Safety Officer provides child protection services to children and families through:
- undertaking the roles of an authorised officer under the Child Protection Act 1999 and some of the powers and functions that the chief executive has delegated
- applying relevant legislation, policies, procedures and quality standards in their contact with children and their families
- working collaboratively with approved carers, the community, government and non-government service providers.
The Child Safety Officer is the primary contact for matters specific to the child in your care – such as matters in the child’s case plan or your placement agreement, or any unmet of emerging needs relating to the child in your care.
