Free and confidential help is available 24 hours, 7 days a week, to people experiencing harm from their own gambling or someone else’s.

If you’re concerned about your gambling (or someone else’s), phone the Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 for free and confidential counselling and crisis support (24 hours, 7 days a week). They can also refer you to the closest Gambling Help service for face-to-face counselling.

Gambling Help Queensland
Gambling Help Queensland provides free and confidential counselling through a network of community organisations.
Gambling Help Queensland offers:
- qualified face-to-to face, video-chat and other remote counselling services
- help to ban yourself from gambling venues (self-exclusion)
- referral to other support services like financial counselling
- community education to help you and your community understand gambling and how to get support.

Financial counselling
If you’re facing financial difficulties because of your gambling, a financial counsellor can help.
The Financial Counsellors’ Association of Queensland (FCAQ) is a not-for-profit organisation whose members provide free financial and paralegal services to low income and disadvantaged people. Members of the FCAQ are independent, accountable, and non-judgmental.
Lifeline
Lifeline provides short-term support for people who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping or staying safe. To access confidential one-on-one support from a trained telephone crisis supporter, phone 13 11 14, (24 hours, 7 days a week).
Kids Helpline
If you’re between 12-25 and want to talk to someone about your gambling (or any other problem) call the Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800. You can remain anonymous. It’s free and available 24/7.
Help for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Gambling Help Queensland services offer culturally safe gambling support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. To book an appointment call 1800 858 858 or search for your nearest service.
13 YARN
13 YARN (13 92 76) is a national crisis support line for mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping.
They offer a confidential one-on-one yarning opportunity with a Lifeline-trained Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter who can provide crisis support 24 hours, 7 days a week.
