National Redress Scheme

In response to recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the Australian Government developed a National Redress Scheme for people who were sexually abused as children in institutional settings before 1 July 2018.

Detailed information about the Scheme including eligibility, application processes and supports available to help redress applicants is available at National Redress Scheme. Free legal advice for anyone considering applying to the Scheme, or wanting to discuss all options available to them is also available by calling knowmore on 1800 605 762 or by visiting Knowmore.

The Queensland Government has been participating in the Scheme since November 2018.
