Queensland Veterans' Council and Veterans' Reference Group
The Premier and Minister for the Olympics has announced the members of the new Queensland Veterans’ Council and Veterans’ Reference Group.
The Queensland Veterans’ Council will provide advice to the Queensland Government on veterans’ matters and manage Anzac Square and the Anzac Day Trust Fund. These functions will commence progressively from November 2022.
The newly appointed members of the Queensland Veterans’ Council are:
- Quentin Masson DSM (Chairperson)
- Robert Skoda—representing RSL Queensland
- Nicole Hayes—representing Northern Queensland Legacy
- Lorraine Hatton OAM
- Miriam Dwyer
- Christopher Hamilton.
The Queensland Veterans’ Council will also include ex officio representatives from both the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.
The Veterans’ Reference Group will assist the Queensland Veterans’ Council to consult with the veterans’ community and provide advice to the Queensland Government on veterans’ matters.
The two Queensland Veterans’ Council members representing veterans’ organisations—Robert Skoda and Nicole Hayes—will co-chair the Veterans’ Reference Group. The other members appointed to the Veterans’ Reference Group are:
