Meet the Investment Panel
The Queensland Government-appointed Land Restoration Fund (LRF) Investment Panel (Panel) selects carbon farming projects that, through investment by the LRF, provide the greatest benefits to Queensland.
The appointment of the Panel establishes one of the foundational pillars of the LRF governance structure. That is, the Panel is independently appointed by government and operates at arm’s length from government on a commercial basis.
The role of the Panel includes:
- evaluating the applications received during the LRF Investment Rounds and prioritising them for investment based on the evaluation criteria and the investment priorities set out in the Priority Investment Plan (PIP)
- recommending projects for LRF investment by the LRF Trust, with the aim of building a diverse portfolio of investments across PIP priorities, geographies, carbon farming methods and project size, as well as the co-benefits that will be delivered.
Members of the LRF Investment Panel include:
- Prof Marcia Langton AO, Foundation Chair, Australian Indigenous Studies, University of Melbourne (Chair)
- Ms Sue Johnson, Group Executive, Transurban
- Prof James Watson, Senior (Professorial) Research Fellow, University of Queensland (Deputy Chair)
- Prof Tim Flannery, Professorial Fellow, Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute, University of Melbourne
- Ms Emma Herd, EY Oceania Partner, Climate Change and Sustainability Services
- Mr Adam Knapp, General Manager Policy and Projects, Queensland Farmer’s Federation
