Addiction recovery
Specialist alcohol and other drug treatment services are available to help people recover from problematic substance use and addiction. Queensland Hospital and Health Services, non-government organisations and private providers deliver a range of treatment services including:
- assessment
- brief intervention
- counselling
- withdrawal management (i.e. 'detox')
- residential and non-residential programs
- medication assisted treatment
They also facilitate referral to other services as required.

Adis 24/7 Alcohol and Drug Support provides 24 hour, 7 day a week confidential support for people in Queensland with alcohol and other drug concerns, their families and health professionals. You can call Adis at any time for counselling, information and advice. Experienced counsellors are there to listen and give you options about the next steps. Adis can assist in identifying a treatment service matched to your needs.

Quit smoking services
Quitline offers support, encouragement and resources to help you quit smoking. Phone 13 QUIT (13 7848), or request a call.
Other counselling service
Counselling Online lets you communicate online with a professional counsellor about any alcohol or drug related concern, available 24 hours a day. This service is free for anyone seeking help with their own use or the use of a family member, relative or friend. You can choose to remain anonymous or to register with the service.
Gambling support
Call the Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 for a free and confidential 24 hour counselling and referral service for people concerned about their own, or someone else's, gambling.
The Gambling Help service is a free, confidential, face-to-face help service which operates during business hours across Queensland. Contact your local Gambling Help service directly or telephone the Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 for a referral.
Gambling Help Online is a national website that provides live online professional counselling and email support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
