Fuel price reporting trial

If you are a fuel retailer in Queensland who offers fuel for sale to the public, you must report your fuel prices, and any changes to those prices, as part of a 2-year trial that started on 3 December 2018.

The information is then published for consumers via various fuel price websites and apps.

Under the Fair Trading (Fuel Price Reporting) Regulation 2018, you must report fuel price information within 30 minutes of the change at the bowser.

Enforcement action, including fines, may apply if you do not meet fuel price reporting requirements.

Businesses whose primary activity is hiring, leasing or selling motor vehicles are excluded from the fuel price reporting obligations.
