Duration 00:01:20 |

Hi everyone, I’m back again for series 2!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Jess, a proud Bidjara woman.

I’m really excited to be helping local councils understand more about the blue card system and to help them work out who needs a blue card and who doesn’t.

This is so important because making people get a blue card when they don’t need one creates a barrier for First Nations peoples to get work in their communities.

The most common feedback our team receives when they visit community is, “My job is making me get a blue card and I don’t work with kids”. Local councils should not have policies in place that make employees get a blue card if the work they are doing is not regulated by the blue card system.

So, we’ve created the next series to help CEOs and HR managers in council to know more about the blue card system, when employees will need a blue card, how to link employees to the council, and what to do when an employee has a change in their blue card status.
