Update your security details
If your details change, you must report this to us within 7 days.
Please note: we may ask you to pay a fee if we need to reprint your licence to include the changes.
Individuals
Your address
You will need to tell us if you change an address. This might be:
- your personal residence
- your postal address
- any place of business.
To notify us of a change of personal or postal address, you will need to fill out a change of address form. Alternatively, contact the Industry Licensing Unit by emailing or calling on 13 QGOV (13 74 68).

Adding a function or security officer category
If you want to add any functions or categories to your licence you can contact the Industry Licensing Unit by emailing for specific information regarding forms and fees.
Other changes
You must contact us if you:
- change your name (include an original certified copy of the official document that registered the change)
- are charged with or convicted of a disqualifying offence.
Security firms
The following information applies to licensed security firms only.
Australian Company Number (ACN)
If you are a company who holds a security firm licence and change your Australian Company Number (ACN), you must apply for a new licence.
Postal address
To notify us of a new postal address, you will need to fill out a change of address form.

Places of business
You will need to fill out a change of business details form to notify us that you're:
- changing your principal place of business
- opening, closing or moving any other place of business.

All other changes
You must contact us if you change your:
- trading name
- business name
- officer bearers
- membership of an industry association.
You must also contact us if you are charged with or convicted of a disqualifying offence.
This includes any charges or convictions against:
- the firm itself
- any partner or office holder.
