Tattoo licence conditions

By law your licence is subject to specific conditions.

For all licensees

You must not sell, rent out or lend your licence to anyone. Penalties apply.

For tattoo operators

As a tattoo operator you are in charge of the business. Penalties apply if you break any of the conditions you are subject to.

Operations

As an operator you must:

• clearly display the licence at your premises
• include your licence number in any advertising
• tell us if your licence is lost, stolen or destroyed
• tell us about any changes to your staff members
• keep a Procedures log correctly.

Finances

At all times you must keep your business’s financial records:

• in English
• at your licensed premises
• within easy access.

An inspector or police officer may require you to show them your records. If so, they will give you a written notice. You must follow their lawful directions.

For specific licensees

We may add other conditions to a licence. We will do this on a case-by-case basis.
