Fossicking camping permits
Camping is allowed in some designated fossicking lands and areas, including:
- Duck Creek and Sheep Station Creek designated fossicking land
- Opalton designated fossicking land
- Divide, Reward, Rubyvale, Sapphire and Scrub Lead designated fossicking land (other than prohibited camping land).
A fossicking camping permit is required. The maximum stay at any one area is 3 months.
The camping permit does not authorise you to fossick. If you wish to fossick, you can purchase a fossicking licence online, from a mines assessment hub or from an authorised agent.
