At Queensland State Archives (QSA) you can find records created by Queensland agencies, including:

  • government departments

  • universities
  • statutory authorities
  • boards.

Records can include:

  • letters
  • reports
  • telegrams
  • photographs
  • maps
  • architectural drawings.

Deed polls

We hold deed polls (change-of-name records) that were registered with the Queensland Supreme Court before 1 February 2004.

What’s online

Only a small amount of the collection is available for viewing online.

  • Use ArchivesSearch to search for digitised (scanned) and hardcopy records (to view digitised records, enter your search term on ArchivesSearch, select ‘Item’, and ‘Records with digital objects only’).
  • View a selection of photographs from our collection on Flickr.
  • Use the Indexes to search lists of our most popular records.

You will most likely need to order a copy of the record you are interested in or visit us in person at Runcorn.

Other archives

A lot of historical information can be found and accessed with other organisations.
