Lights on bridges and landmarks

Some bridges, buildings, and landmarks in Brisbane can be lit up in different colours to promote community, charity and public awareness campaigns and events.

Kurilpa Bridge and Neville Bonner Bridge

Applications must meet the below criteria prior to being approved and scheduled by QGAO:

  1. Lighting of the bridges is only available for significant City, State or National events or awareness campaigns that:
    • have a state or city-wide audience; or
    • are a national event represented in multiple states; or
    • are at the request of the Queensland State government.
  2. Applications must be submitted by an organisation or registered not-for-profit organisation.

Applications are processed on the chronological date and order in which they are received. QGAO will assist to accommodate a preferred date request and / or an alternative date / range request however sometimes this may not be possible due to a previous or subsequent approved application of merit.

QGAO reserves the right to cancel a lighting booking without notice. Where there are no bookings for Kurilpa Bridge and Neville Bonner Bridge, they will be illuminated WHITE.

For event approval, please complete an Application to light bridge form (PDF, 314 KB) and submit the completed form to: QGAO.ParksandBridges@epw.qld.gov.au.
