Terms of use—hazard perception test

Your use of this site represents your agreement to comply with these hazard perception test (HPT) terms of use, in addition to the Transport and Main Roads online service terms and conditions already agreed to.

Austroads Ltd is the owner of all intellectual property rights including copyright in the HPT clips. All other content within the hazard perception test is subject to the copyright of the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) as owner. All such rights are expressly reserved.
Any redistribution or reproduction of part or all of the hazard perception test, test instruction videos and content in any form is strictly prohibited. You may not print, download, distribute or commercially exploit the content nor transmit or store this information in any other website or other form of electronic retrieval system. The prohibitions contained in this paragraph apply notwithstanding the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0) which has no application to these HPT terms of use.
User participation for the hazard perception test
You acknowledge that you are undertaking the HPT as the holder of a learner or provisional P1 (P1) licence and as the person whose name appears on the licence.
You acknowledge that no assistance, prompting or instruction may be given to you by any other person while you are undertaking the HPT.
Any practice questions undertaken in a session will not be counted towards your HPT result.
Any person who provides false or misleading information will be liable to be prosecution under section 53 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 for which the maximum penalty that may be imposed by a court for this offence is in excess of $9,200.
Privacy and confidentiality
We respect your right to privacy and confidentiality.
Test results for the HPT are used solely for the purpose of assessing your eligibility to upgrade to the next licence class as applicable to your existing licence.
Personal information supplied from the mandatory/voluntary customer survey questions will be kept solely for the purpose of Transport and Main Roads research and statistical gathering.
Your personal information will not be disclosed to a third party without your consent unless required to do so for the purposes of Transport and Main Roads privacy scheme Information Privacy Act 2009.
