Cabinet in Cairns to consult with community
Premier Steven Miles led the Queensland Government to Cairns in February for the first Community Cabinet of the year.
It was an opportunity for community members, workers, and businesses to meet with the Premier and Ministers to discuss the key priorities and opportunities, leading to 90 one-on-one meetings with community members.
The Premier, Ministers, and local members also took part in a Town Hall style meeting, answering questions to a packed audience at Cairns State High School’s new hall, built by the Queensland Government in 2021.
The Cabinet also listened to residents' experience of the recovery response and rebuilding of homes, businesses, tourism operators, and communities impacted by Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
The Queensland Government is planning an even brighter future for the region by investing billions of dollars across Far North Queensland, including record investment to deliver better health infrastructure, building 301 social homes, and supporting marine rescue services.
Thank you, Cairns!
