Extra boost to community safety
The Sunshine Coast community will benefit from a significant Queensland Government investment for a new police helicopter and PCYC facility.
The new police helicopter will be a critical part of keeping the community safe, locating suspects and assisting in searches for missing people, while the $15 million PCYC facility promises to foster stronger ties between law enforcement and local communities − reinforcing a commitment to creating safer, more connected communities.
Land has been secured for the PCYC at Caloundra South, located adjacent to the new emergency services precinct off Bells Creek Arterial Road .
These initiatives are aligned with Queensland Government’s comprehensive, evidence-based Community Safety Plan for Queensland.
By investing in proven strategies and innovative solutions, the government is addressing the root causes of crime and ensuring that communities across the state remain safe and vibrant places to live and work.
