Vocational education and training (VET) data management

The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training can provide assistance to registered training organisations (RTOs) with VET activity and data management enquiries, including:

• VET data submissions to us
• VET data error rectification
• VET data validations.

Total VET Activity (TVA) reporting

The National VET Data Policy instructs a mandatory requirement for RTOs to report all VET delivery activity on an annual basis-this is known as Total VET Activity (TVA) reporting.

RTOs can report their TVA data either directly to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) or through a state training authority (STA). In Queensland, we (the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training) is the STA.

RTOs contracted with us to deliver VET in Queensland must report their VET activity via Partner Portal, a secure website offering an exchange of information between us and RTOs.
