Delivered in partnership by the Australian Government and Queensland Government.
Work has begun on the project to design and construct water infrastructure upgrades including:
- new pre-treatment, improved chemical storage and dosing systems, new clarifiers and filters, UV treatment, associated pipework and pumps, instrumentation and control system known as SCADA to monitor and control the treatment processes.
- new 2ML treated water reservoir integrated with existing reservoirs storage and connections to provide additional treated water storage.
The project team will consult with all stakeholders throughout the project. They will work closely with Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council and the local community to consider water safety and reliability issues.
