Information for contractors
Through the Stronger Homes Grant, homeowners can apply for up to $10,000 to pay for eligible resilience works for their home.
As a licensed contractor (including builders and tradespeople) you will be paid directly through the Stronger Homes Grant for carrying out this work.
To qualify:
- builders and tradespeople must hold an appropriate licence
- contractors must use an approved contract for all works, this may include a contract through an industry organisation
- you need to provide evidence of QBCC Home Warranty insurance, if applicable, before starting works.
Preparing your quote
You will need to include:
- an itemised list of completed works, including the quantity, volume, material and costs
- the homeowner’s details and Stronger Homes Grant reference number.
Our Contractor Offer Schedule (PDF, 73KB) may assist you in preparing your quote with the required level of detail required for assessment under the Stronger Homes Grant.
A Stronger Homes Grant assessor may inspect your works at any time.
When works have been verified and approved, you will need to provide, where applicable, the following documentation to the homeowner:
- before and after photos of each area where works have been undertaken (ensure all strategies are documented. There is no limit to the number of photos that can be submitted)
- Form 4 for sanitary plumbing works
- Form 21 for certification of structural works
- Form 30 for self-certification of aspect works
- Electrical Safety Certificate for electrical works
- your invoice, including
- an itemised list of completed works, including the quantity, volume, material and costs
- the homeowner’s details and Stronger Homes Grant reference number
- QBCC Home Warranty Insurance details, if applicable.
You will be paid once all required documentation has been verified.
Insurance works
- Insurance-funded works must be approved in writing before works can begin.
