Making changes to a charity
You must advise us of certain changes to your charity. To do this, a representative from your charity:
- must notify us in writing
- may need to include supporting documents.
However, you do not need to:
- fill out any forms
- pay any fees.
Your charity's name
Notify us
You must tell us about any changes to your charity's constitution.
To notify us, send us a copy of either:
- the resolution
- minutes from the meeting where the change was approved (signed by 2 members of your governing body).
Depending on your constitution, a meeting might be of:
- your members
- your governing body.
Replace your certificate
The name on your certificate of registration must be correct. For this reason, you will need to send us your original certificate.
If you no longer have the original certificate, you must send us a statutory declaration:
- signed by the secretary
- stating that your certificate has been lost, damaged or destroyed.
We will send you a new certificate once we register the name change.
