The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) uses social media channels to keep Queensland consumers and business up to date with the latest fair trading information.
We read all comments and direct messages and will make sure constructive comments or helpful suggestions are forwarded on to the appropriate areas.
We only respond to comments during standard business hours and only respond to those comments that meet our guidelines as listed below.
OFT’s social media channels are not a forum to lodge a complaint against a business or product, or about our services. Visit our homepage to learn more about our services, or find out how to lodge a:

Please be aware that social media interactions are publicly viewable and searchable over time and the laws of defamation apply in social media spaces in the same way as they do in other means of communication.
When engaging with our social media channels, we ask that you use objective language that is free from political content.
Do not:
- post anything that could be considered prejudicial, off-topic, inflammatory, repetitive, offensive or otherwise inappropriate
- name a trader or business. You can submit an enquiry or lodge a complaint using the links above
- swear
- reveal any personal or sensitive information about others
- use our channels to solicit customers or promote a business or organisation.
