Renew your tattoo industry licence
You must apply to renew before your current licence expires.
Getting the form
We will send you a renewal notice via post about 6 weeks before your licence expires.
You can also apply to renew online. You only need your licence number to get started. You will be prompted to create a Queensland Government account. You don't have to do this but if you do, we'll be able to prefill the form with your personal details and give you status updates on the progress of your renewal.
Once the form has been submitted, you are deemed licensed until you receive your new licence, or until your application is refused or withdrawn.
Make sure to tell us if you change your postal address.
Please contact us if you:
- need another copy of the form
- haven’t received the form at your current address.
Continuing to work
You need to make sure we receive your completed renewal form before your current licence expires.
If you do, you can keep working while your licence renewal is being processed.
During this time, you must be able to produce:
- your expired licence
- a receipt from us for your renewal fee (you can ask for a receipt on your renewal form or by contacting us).
If you submit your renewal form after your current licence expires, it cannot be renewed and you will need to apply for a new licence. If this happens, you must not work until you are properly licensed again.
Supporting documentation
You do not need to provide finger and palm prints or passport photos for each renewal.
Passport photos are only required once every 10 years, or if your appearance has significantly changed.
