Rescue services in Queensland

Volunteer Marine Rescue
Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) is made up of several organisations working to make our waterways safer. These organisations include:
- Marine Rescue Association Queensland
- Australian Volunteer Coast Guard
- Surf Life Saving Queensland
- Royal Life Saving Society Australia.
VMR is also part of the National Search and Rescue Plan.
Helicopter and emergency rescue
Queensland Government Air (QGAir) delivers life-saving, community safety and state support aviation services to the people and government of Queensland.

QGAir have bases at Brisbane Airport, Archerfield, Townsville, Cairns, Mt Isa, and Horn Island.
