Not only does Moreton Bay boast one of the newest Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR) Stations, but now two new QFR trucks.

The Moreton Bay Central QFR station was officially handed the keys to a 9000-litre Urban Water Tanker (UTank) and a Type 3 Urban Pumper on Wednesday 3 July.

Worth a combined $1.9 million, the trucks will strengthen response capabilities of the $6 million Moreton Bay Central QFR station, which officially opened in February.

The Type 3 Urban Pumper is one of QFR’s most common fire trucks, with a water tank capacity of 1500 litres, supported by a 4500 litres per minute water pump with a foam injection system.

The 9000 litre UTank boasts features such as an onboard Compressed Air Foam System, a removable bumper monitor, 3000-litre portable dam and a state-of-the-art cabin halo system that sprays water around the truck if firefighters are threatened by a burn over.

With the highly skilled Moreton Bay Central crews already responding to hundreds of callouts since opening, this investment helps them continue to do their jobs as safely and effectively as possible.
