Boost for The Caves Rural Fire Brigade

The Caves Rural Fire Brigade has received a new $455,000 water tanker, enhancing local firefighting resources.

Boasting a 7000-litre water carrying capacity, the Hino 500 Rural Fire Service (RFS) Tanker has been delivered through the RFS Fleet Replacement Scheme and provides additional water support at large-scale structure and vegetation fires.

The tanker is fitted with vehicle stability control, a crucial support as vehicles carrying liquid are more susceptible to rollovers, and The Caves Rural Fire Brigade is accustomed to challenging terrain.

The brigade is one of five in the state to receive a vehicle of this kind, with the Hino 500 specially designed for Queensland’s RFS.
