Blue cards for Queensland Fire Department
If you work or volunteer with Queensland Fire Department (QFD) you need a blue card to deliver services regulated by the blue card system.
QFD protects children and young people by ensuring blue card screening for its staff and volunteers and having risk management strategies in place. This is because QFD employees:
- are on the frontline and among the first to help the community, including children, in emergency situations.
- may conduct fire education programs at schools. This would be captured under the schools category.
- may conduct fire education programs at a childcare, kindergarten or before and after school care. This would be captured under the education and care services category of regulated employment.
For more information on blue card requirements, please contact the QFD Blue Card Team on (07) 3635 1681 or by emailing QFD.bluecard@fire.qld.gov.au.
