Blue cards for Youth Justice officers

If you work for  Youth Justice  you will need a blue card under the ‘Justice and detention services’ category of regulated employment or business (unless exempt – for example, you are a registered health practitioner).

Under this category a person needs a blue card if their work or business activities take place in a youth detention facility or, include supervision and monitoring of a child who is subject to a court order under the Youth Justice Act 1992, including community based orders, supervised release orders, or any other order made under that Act.

Before you can work for Youth Justice or in any  child-related regulated employment, you must hold a valid blue card.
