[Speaker 1] Our vision is that Queensland's young people are empowered to actively participate, cultivate their futures, live their best lives, and thrive in our communities.
[Speaker 2] The landscape of our society is constantly changing, and this evolution is more significant for us as young people on our journey towards adulthood.
[Speaker 3] The Queensland Government recognises that as times change so do the most important issues faced by us as young people.
[Speaker 4] The Young Queenslander Strategy provides a broad framework to ensure the current and future needs of young people are honoured by a government that listens, responds dynamically, and meets us where we are.
[Speaker 5] Accompanying this strategy will be the periodic release of Youth sentiment snapshots.
[Speaker 6] These reports will unpack a point in time record of the unique experiences and needs of our diverse young people, including our ideas of a brighter future.
[Speaker 7] Every young person regardless of their circumstances or background deserves to fill seen, heard and supported.
[Speaker 8] These reports will be co-designed with young Queenslanders across all background and will act as a tool to serve for understanding and also addressing the needs of young individuals.
[Speaker 9] Ensuring that all young people feel supported on our individual pathways.
[Speaker 10] This process will unfold throughout the lifespan of the strategy, informing future action plans ensuring an enduring commitment that young people are partners in this process, and we will be involved every step of the way.
[Speaker 11] Every young person has the power and potential to thrive in Queensland and the Queensland Government has a responsibility to remove the barriers which stand in our way
[Speaker 12] Building stronger more resilient communities isn't just about responding to problems as they arise. Young people need flexible policies, programs, and services that support them before a problem may present.
[Speaker 13] The Queensland Government acknowledges that young people come from all walks of life.
[Speaker 14] and they [Queensland Government] are committed to ensuring that each of our diverse perspectives and experiences are recognized as they support us on our individual journeys.
[Speaker 15] Young people in Queensland have told us that we want to feel safe, connected with our communities, and have meaning in their lives.
[Speaker 16] [While] many young people are already well on a journey to success, some of us feel we are unprepared for adulthood and want to obtain real-world skills that will better equip us to be ready for life.
[Speaker 17] It's time for all young people to feel empowered, to take control of their lives, and to design the map that will guide our individual pathways towards self-determination.
