Description: Low open woodlands dominated by a variety of species including boree (Acacia tephrina), whitewood (Atalaya hemiglauca), supplejack (Ventilago viminalis), red lancewood (Archidendropsis basaltica), Terminalia spp., Acacia spp., ebony tree (Lysiphyllum carronii) or bauhinia (L. gilvum). Corymbia terminalis is frequently present as well. Shrubs are very sparse with conker berry (Carissa lanceolata), nipan (Capparis lasiantha) and bastard sandalwood (Eremophila mitchellii) the most frequent species.

Some animals that use this habitat type: Australian bustard, crested bellbird, eastern grey kangaroo, little pied bat, soil-crack whipsnake, Eyrean earless dragon, New Holland frog, knife-footed frog.
