Creating a supportive workplace

Domestic and family violence or coercive control can impact a person's safety, wellbeing, attendance and performance at work.

All employees are entitled to 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave each year. This includes full-time, part-time and casual employees. You may also be able to apply for flexible working arrangements.

Local government, businesses and non-government organisations are encouraged to adapt the domestic and family violence workplace package to suit their workplaces. In addition to developing a supportive workplace, employers can also help someone experiencing domestic and family violence or coercive control on a personal level.
