This is a temporary role for the length of the program. Graduates will receive dedicated support to secure ongoing employment within Queensland Government.

Who we are looking for

Applicants with a bachelor, graduate certificate, or master's degrees in any of the following areas:

  • information technology, cloud computing, cyber security, computer science, data analytics, robotics, telecommunications, information management, mathematics
  • business, marketing, procurement, project management
  • law
  • creative industries, web and multimedia design, user experience design.

Examples of digital roles include:

  • Cyber security – cyber security officer, security administration officer
  • Data – data analyst, database administrator, information management officer
  • operations – project support officer, research officer, website developer
  • Design – human-centred design, user experience officer, graphic designer
  • Outcome management – business analyst, digital integrator, mobile platform application developer
  • Technology – software developer, ICT generalist, network support officer, cloud integration officer, enterprise officer
  • Emerging roles – artificial intelligence, automation developer, machine learning

Program eligibility

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • have a university undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a discipline listed above
  • have or will have completed a bachelor's degree or higher between January 2022 and 31 January 2026
  • are an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • are an Australian permanent resident
  • have a visa with unrestricted working rights under Australian immigration law.

Additional information for international students

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • can provide evidence of your visa type, status and entitlements to work prior to starting employment with us. Right to work must be maintained through employment. For more information on right to work and visa conditions visit the Department of Home Affairs
  • have obtained overseas qualification recognition if you received your degree outside of Australia.

Applications for the 2026 intake will open in June 2025.

Our recruitment process

You will be required to create a GradSift profile and upload your:

  • resume
  • academic transcript
  • visa information (international applicants only)

You will then record a short video that promotes yourself.

This will also be your opportunity to select 3 role preferences. Potential roles are listed under 'Who we are looking for'.

Once you have completed your online application, it will be forwarded to our participating departments for assessment and shortlisting.

If a department wishes to progress your application, you will be contacted directly for an interview (face to face or via MS Teams).

As it is a whole of Queensland Government graduate program, you may be contacted by multiple agencies for interviews.

If you are successful, the department will contact you to offer you a place on the program.
