About this program
Come onboard our 12-month Medical Scientist graduate program and work alongside skilled and experienced professionals in diverse fields such as pathology, haematology, and microbiology. We'll help you develop scientific knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities as part of the graduate program. You'll also have a wide range of opportunities to develop your leadership and team-building skills, ensuring you're all set for your future career in medical science.
During the program, you'll receive multidisciplinary scientific training in one of our state-of-the-art laboratories across Queensland, with the opportunity to apply for educational funding and preference for your desired location.
Who we are looking for
Graduates in the following discipline (or equivalent) are eligible:
- Medical Laboratory Science
Program eligibility
You are eligible to apply if you:
- have a university undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the discipline listed above
- have or will have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher between 31 October 2023 and 31 January 2026
- have not had any laboratory experience in a scientist role
- are an Australian or New Zealand citizen
- are an Australian permanent resident
- have a visa with unrestricted working rights under Australian immigration law.
Additional information for international students
You are eligible to apply if you:
- can provide evidence of your visa type, status and entitlements to work prior to starting employment with us. Right to work must be maintained through employment. For more information on right to work and visa conditions visit the Department of Home Affairs.
- have obtained overseas qualification recognition if your received your degree outside of Australia.
Program remuneration and benefits
- salary starting at $$3,030–$4,453 fortnightly
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
