Treasury graduate Arabella Scott talks about her GRADStart experience

There's a lot of support in the graduate program. There's also a comprehensive training program from very technical topics such as funding and investment principles to critical thinking. I was also partnered with a mentor who has been very helpful in facilitating my growth as an economist.

One of my favourite work opportunities so far has been my involvement in drafting content for Queensland's budget update and I feel very proud of my contribution to this key government deliverable.

I would describe treasury as a very inclusive workplace. Since starting the program I've met so many people that I wouldn't have met otherwise and there are a lot of colleagues that I would consider my good friends, and I find this helps me feel really comfortable challenging each other's perspectives and asking questions.

My experience has been really empowering. It's been great to look back on my growth as an economist and hone my skills and also know that my work contributes to the prosperity of Queensland.
